It's time for a Town Hall!
On Tuesday, October 27th, IndyHall will host its first "Town Hall" meeting since we moved (and nearly doubled in size) in May.
No, we're not going to debate healthcare, but we will tackle some topics that affect all of us, including but not limited to this loose agenda:
  • Founder Introductions
  • Member Introductions
  • Intern Introductions
  • Growth numbers since the move
  • Events recap
  • Member voices (what do you want to talk about?)
  • Events planned
  • Open forum discussion/Q&A
This event isn't only for members...our community extends beyond the walls of IndyHall and EVERYONE is welcome!

We'll be kicking off at 5:30pm and expect it to be an hour or so long.

Plus, cupcakes and beer! RSVP is not required, but strongly encouraged.

Like Thing 1 and Thing 2, only more helpful.
Thing 1 Thing 2 For those of you who haven't yet done so, please welcome Parker and Michelle, aka the IndyHall interns BIG and small. Remember what it was like to be just starting out? Follow their new blog as they record the thoughts and adventures of assimilating into IndyHall.

And remember, they're IndyHall's interns, not Alex's and Dana's; if you need some help on a project, they'd be psyched to pitch in. Just ask.

Post POST Post
Thanks to Kara LaFleur for spearheading this community event. On October 3rd and 4th IndyHall participated in POST (Philadelphia Open Studios Tours), opening our doors to the art lovers of Philadelphia and showcasing the artistic talents of our members.

On display were works by several IndyHall community members. Artist's books by Michelle Nugent, Kirstin Harper's illustration portfolio, projects by Kelani Edmondson including Art Blog Labs maps & listings and her upcoming Bookish Project, and Kara LaFleur's photography portfolios took over the event room as a gallery space for the weekend. Throughout the space were paintings by Sean Martorana, while a presentation by Johnny Bilotta on the development of a logo ran on the lounge tv. Pepper may even have done an impromptu performance piece or two on her wheel.

Post POST Visitors were greeted by a sketch park table downstairs and Open Source Cupcakes in the kitchen!  There was a great turnout and IndyHall definitely made some new fans by opening our doors to another community within Philadelphia.

Some paintings are still hanging on the walls, so be sure to check them out when you have a chance. In the meantime, Kara uploaded some photos to flickr.

Show and Tell Next Week
The next Show and Tell will be on Thursday, October 22nd at noon in the South Hall Event Space (you know, that obnoxiously huge conference room closest to the kitchen). Share anything you want, whether it's what your working on, or something cool you think others would want to know about. Just let Dana know how much time you'll need.

We're also now encouraging RSVPs for Show and Tell so we can plan better. If you think you'd like to come, let us know!

IndyHalloween 2.0 on October 29th with Geekadelphia, Brave New Worlds Comics, and Zenescope!
Tetris Costume
We're stoked to announce that we'll be hosting our 2nd annual IndyHalloween party with our friends at Geekadelphia! This year we're heading to Sugar Moms in Old City on October 29th, from 9pm til close.

Also excited is that we'll be joined by the awesome folks at Brave New Worlds Comics and Zenescope, who will have some giveaways and prizes for the best costumed at the event.

Costume contest, you say? That's right! Last year we had some general geek themes, THIS year we're closing in on something a bit more specific: Classic Console/Arcade Video Games and Classic Comic Book Characters!

Check out Geekadelphia's post for more details and RSVP on Facebook.
